Election24: Fico Congratulates Pellegrini, Hopes in Stability of Coalition (2)

Bratislava, April 7 (TASR) - Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) congratulated Voice-SD leader Peter Pellegrini on his victory in the 2024 presidential election on early Sunday. Fico added that he believes in the stability of the governing coalition and trusts that practical problems related to Pellegrini's transition from the post of the House Chair to that of the president will be fully addressed. "Even today, the people of Slovakia showed that they recognize the danger this country faces from liberal media, activists, NGOs and progressivists," declared Fico. Fico called on those who had been referring about the presidential election as a "referendum on the Government" to write that the referendum ended up well and that the majority of the people wish the current style of governance to continue. In Fico's view, the incumbent coalition is destined to govern until 2027. mf
