Monthly Salary at U.S. Steel Kosice Up by €90 Following Agreement with Union

Kosice, March 28 (TASR) - The monthly tariff salary at U.S. Steel Kosice will increase by €90 per employee as of April 1, according to an addendum to a collective agreement signed between representatives of the trade union and employer on Wednesday (March 27). The addendum extends the validity of the current collective agreement until the end of 2025, said the trade union. At the same time, the employer will pay a one-off bonus of €100 to every employee this November if the steelmaker posts EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxation and depreciation) of at least USD 80 million (€73.96 million). The two sides signed the addendum to the collective agreement following five rounds of collective bargaining. "The result of a democratic, transparent and fair outcome is social reconciliation," stated the Council of OZ KOVO trade union at U.S. Steel Kosice. The agreed wording also includes increased bonuses for night and weekend work and work under difficult conditions. Working hours at the steelmaker will apply according to last year's addendum. U.S. Steel Kosice spokesman Jan Baca confirmed for TASR that an agreement has been reached with the trade union, adding that the company management views it as important at this time. ko/df
