Bratislava, December 5 (TASR) - Parliament on Tuesday launched a special session over misconduct concerning the running of the Slovak pavilion at the EXPO 2020 Dubai.
At the session, coalition MPs intend to ask former economy minister Richard Sulik to provide compensation for the financial damage found by the Supreme Audit Office in connection with the Slovak exhibition.
According to the audit office, the Economy Ministry spent a total of €634,000 from the state budget inefficiently when preparing and running the Slovak pavilion at the EXPO 2020 Dubai.
Sulik has insisted that he didn't make any mistakes as economy minister. In his opinion, the mistakes were made in accounting. Moreover, he stated that the ministry actually saved €1 million from the originally allocated budget in connection with the organisation of the Slovak exhibition.
