OLANO Again Calls on President Not to Appoint Kalinak as Defence Minister

Bratislava, October 24 (TASR) - The 'OLANO and Friends' party again called on President Zuzana Caputova to refuse to appoint Robert Kalinak as the defence minister. OLANO leader Igor Matovic criticised the president for the fact that she only had reservations about the nomination of Rudolf Huliak as the environment minister. Matovic blames the president for playing the game of Smer-SD leader Robert Fico when replacing Huliak. According to Matovic, Fico's goal was to 'smuggle' Kalinak into the government. The OLANO leader reiterated that Kalinak is dangerous in the defence minister post. He finds it problematic that Kalinak will be able to appoint the Military Intelligence head. The president will appoint the new government of Robert Fico on Wednesday (October 25) at 2 p.m. She announced it after receiving a complete list of nominations for members of the new government on Tuesday. The head of the state rejected Huliak's nomination as the environment minister last week. The Slovak National Party (SNS) announced on Tuesday that it will nominate the elected MP Tomas Taraba for the post instead. The new government's members were nominated by the parties Smer-SD, Voice-Sd and SNS. ko/mcs
