Slovak Central Bank Vice-governor Ludovit Odor to Become Caretaker Premier

Bratislava, May 7 (TASR) - Slovak central bank vice-governor Ludovit Odor is set to head a caretaker government that will replace the current interim cabinet of Eduard Heger, President Zuzana Caputova announced on Sunday, adding that the caretaker government will be appointed after May 15. The president at the same time reported that the list of the new caretaker ministers has been decided, noting that she'll first reveal their names to the leaders of political parties and only then to the public, however. Caputova remarked in this vein that the upcoming snap general election will take place in almost six months, which, according to her, is long enough for the caretaker government to stabilise the domestic political situation. Heger announced on Sunday that he's asked the president to relieve him of his mandate to head the interim government. The premier explained that he did so because the president refused to accept any of his proposals meant to prevent the appointing of a caretaker government. Heger's decision came after both interim Agriculture Minister Samuel Vlcan and Foreign Affairs Minister Rastislav Kacer announced that they were resigning earlier this week. zel
