Parliament Again Condemns Russian Aggression in Ukraine

16. februára 2023 13:13
Bratislava, February 16 (TASR) - Parliament on Thursday once again adopted a resolution condemning Russian aggression in Ukraine, including attacks on the civilian population, civilian targets and energy infrastructure, and expressing support for Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity. At the same time, the resolution calls the current Russian regime a terrorist one and Russia a country supporting terrorism. MPs also condemned Russia's direct and indirect threats to use nuclear weapons. The resolution states that the Slovak Parliament doesn't recognise either the recent Russian-held referendums in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya Oblasts in Ukraine or their results and views the territories as remaining part of Ukraine. Parliament also expressed support for efforts to set up a special tribunal to prosecute crimes of Russian aggression and for the prosecution of crimes against humanity and war crimes. Moreover, Parliament condemned Russia's hybrid war in Slovakia, calling on the relevant authorities not to underestimate the threat and take action against it in the interests of maintaining security and democracy in Slovakia. zel/df
