Matovic Proposes €500 Reward for Participating in This Year's Election

Bratislava, February 14 (TASR) - Voters could receive a reward of €500 for participating in this year's parliamentary election, OLaNO leader Igor Matovic proposes in an amendment to the law on the conditions for the exercise of the right to vote. Matovic submitted on Tuesday a proposal to Parliament that would bring about this change. An early parliamentary election is set to be held on September 30. "Legislation is proposed, which introduces the right to a reward for participating in the election for a voter who can be proven to have cast a ballot in the parliamentary election, in the amount of €500," reads the report on the proposal. According to the draft, remuneration for participation in the election would be paid only for participating in the parliamentary election, which will be held first after the law comes into force, namely on September 30, 2023.
