President Dismisses Heger's Cabinet and Grants It Limited Powers

Bratislava, December 16 (TASR) - President Zuzana Caputova on Friday dismissed the Government of Eduard Heger, at the same time granting it limited powers on a temporary basis. Parliament expressed no-confidence in Heger's Cabinet on Thursday evening. Following the vote, Parliamentary Chair Boris Kollar and the prime minister met Caputova at the Presidential Palace. Kollar stated in this regard that political parties will have to agree on a snap general election. In his opinion, the election should take place no later than in June, but May would be an even better time. The vote of confidence in the Government was initiated by Freedom and Solidarity (SaS), a former coalition party. zel/df
