BRATISLAVA - The new education minister could be appointed next week, Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) said during the traditional Question Time in Parliament, which takes place on Thursday afternoons when the house is in session. BRATISLAVA - There's no room for coalition-opposition bickering when it comes to the energy crisis and the need to find solutions to soaring prices, opposition Smer-SD chair Robert Fico declared during parliamentary debate on the energy bill on Thursday and offered a "basic political truce" to the coalition in the name of helping the industry and the people. NITRA - Agriculture Minister Samuel Vlcan (OLaNO nominee) announced that two educational organisations under the auspices of the ministry, the Agroinstitute and the Rural Development Agency, will be merged as of 2023 to create the Knowledge-based Agriculture and Innovations Institute, TASR learnt from the ministry press department on Thursday. KOSICE - The announced all-day warning strike on Monday (September 26) by trade unions in a transport company called eurobus in Kosice and Roznava won't take place, Anita Fakova of the KOVO trade union told TASR on Thursday, adding that the reason is the submission of an order on economic mobilisation.
