Kosice, September 22 (TASR) - The announced all-day warning strike on Monday (September 26) by trade unions in a transport company called eurobus in Kosice and Roznava won't take place, Anita Fakova of the KOVO trade union told TASR on Thursday, adding that the reason is the submission of an order on economic mobilisation. According to her, the employer submitted on Thursday an order from the economy minister, which refers to the law on economic mobilisation. It imposes on the carrier the obligation to ensure transport tasks within the declared emergency situation in connection with the mass influx of foreigners. "Under these conditions, of course, the announced strike is cancelled, we'll continue to proceed in line with the law on collective bargaining, by asking the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Ministry to appoint an arbitrator," said Alexandra Micietova, a member of the board of the OZ KOVO Council. The trade unionists requested the information on whether eurobus employees are covered by the aforementioned obligation at the end of June, which would prevent them from holding a strike in the foreseeable future. "The employer ignored the request at that time and submitted the order only now," said the trade unionists, maintaining that the strike was the culmination of a long-running dispute with the employer over the conclusion of a collective agreement. The negotiations began at the end of October last year. am/mcs
