Bratislava, August 8 (TASR) - Cardinal Jozef Tomko will be buried in St. Elizabeth's Cathedral in Kosice, where his tomb has been prepared, chairman of the Slovak Bishops Conference (KBS) and Archbishop of Bratislava Stanislav Zvolensky told a news conference on Monday, adding that it was the cardinal's wish to be buried in Kosice. The date of the funeral isn't yet known. "Within the next few hours, Pope Francis will decide when the final farewell to the cardinal will take place in Rome. Based on this we'll decide when the funeral will be held here in Slovakia, as it is generally known that his tomb has been prepared in St. Elizabeth's Cathedral in Kosice," said Zvolensky. The KBS chairman stated that Cardinal Tomko loved Slovakia and its people. He was a unique personality for both believers and non-believers and was deeply human. The final meetings with Cardinal Tomko took place when Pope Francis met youth in Kosice during his visit to Slovakia. Subsequently, the cardinal delivered a speech at the thanksgiving pilgrimage of Slovak believers to the Vatican, which took place in late April. Cardinal emeritus Tomko died at the age of 98 in Rome on Monday morning. The KBS press office has set up an email address - kondolencia@kbs.sk - for people to express their condolences. ko/df
