Infamous Serial Killer Ondrej Rigo Dies Aged 66 in Prison Hospital

Bratislava, June 16 (TASR) - The most notorious Slovak serial killer and necrophiliac Ondrej Rigo died in Trencin prison hospital on Tuesday at the age of 66, Prison and Judicial Guard Corps spokeswoman Monika Kacvinska has confirmed for TASR, with news outlet tvnoviny.sk being the first to report on the story on Wednesday. In 1992-93, Rigo killed eight women and one boy in Germany, Slovakia and the Netherlands, sexually violating most of his victims, in addition to stealing from them. DNA evidence was used in his trial for the first time in the history of the Slovak justice system, and he was sentenced to life in prison. He never admitted his guilt. The exact cause of Rigo's death will be determined by an autopsy. zel/df
