Heger Warns Russia Could Threaten Slovakia If Ukraine Falls

Davos, May 26 (TASR) - Attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) warned in an interview for British news channel Sky News that if Russia wins the war in Ukraine, it will continue with its invasion efforts and potentially also threaten Slovakia. "It's important that [the Ukrainians] are our neighbours and we're fully with them ... so that they will win and keep their democracy and sovereignty," said Heger. According to the prime minister, Slovakia cares very much about Ukraine being a stable and prosperous country. If Russia were to win in Ukraine, Slovakia would also be at risk, Heger opined. "We're next in line. If [the Ukrainians] fail, we know that Russia will go further, so this is really vital and we must understand it, especially in the EU, because we're one body at the end of the day," said the minister. zel/df
