15. januára 2022 15:03
Bratislava, January 15 (TASR) - The Government on Wednesday (January 12) approved measures that should intensify bilateral relations and cooperation between Slovakia and Ukraine, including support for reforms and cooperation in implementing Ukraine's association agreement with the EU, streamlining the activities of bilateral intergovernmental and joint commissions, and developing cross-border cooperation at the regional level. "The elaboration of the material resulted from the working visit by Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) to Ukraine on November 12, 2021. Its aim is to identify opportunities for Slovakia to intensify relations and cooperation with Ukraine, not only bilaterally but also in the context of Ukraine's drawing closer to the EU, especially as regards sector assistance in implementing the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement," the Foreign Affairs Ministry stated in the submission report. The draft aims to reflect Slovakia's foreign policy interest in strengthening stability and security to the east of its borders and supporting reform processes in Ukraine. This should contribute to the further development of bilateral cooperation and support of good neighbourly relations with a direct impact on the people of both countries. am/df/ko
