Bratislava, December 23 (TASR) - The Transport and Construction Minister Andrej Dolezal (We Are Family nominee) hopes that the ministry's appeal against the Public Procurement Office's (UVO) decision to scrap the tender on the R2 expressway stretch: Kosice, Saca-Kosicke Olsany will succeed and if not, the ministry will challenge the decision in court, TASR learnt on Thursday. There are many arguments that the ministry plans to use in its defence. "I hope and pray that the UVO appellate body will make a sensible decision in the light of the circumstances," claimed Dolezal in his video on a social network. "I respect UVO, but I refuse to respect bureaucratic bullying. It's important to say what's the crux of the matter," stated Dolezal. In its response on Thursday, the UVO pointed out that the ministry could have avoided having the tender scrapped if it had discussed its preparation beforehand. Dolezal conceded that the UVO often found many shortcomings in public tenders run by the ministry, but that doesn't change what matters in this case. "The fact that the UVO takes three years to decide on some case doesn't mean that it's right," he added. mf/mcs
