Bratislava, November 25 (TASR) - Seven NGOs asked the Government Office for a meeting with Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) to discuss current issues, particularly selection proceedings, the building of transparency and trust in the state, TASR learnt on Thursday. The Government Office declared its interest in arranging the meeting. Peter Kulich of Slovensko.Digital, Zuzana Petkova of Let's Stop Corruption Foundation, Michal Pisko of Transparency International Slovensko, Peter Kunder of Alliance Fair-Play, Katarina Batkova of Via Iuris, Dusan Zachar of INEKO and Veronika Pracharova of Institute for Well-governed Society claimed that they offer a constructive dialogue about efficient measures. The Government Office confirmed that the Prime Minister is interested in the talks. "At the moment, we're searching the schedule for a suitable date," it claimed. Despite ambitious commitments stemming from the Government Manifesto, many selection proceedings have become subject to broad public criticism, said the NGOs. "We're witnessing political nominations to expert positions, failed selection proceedings in terms of processes, even the exclusion of public oversight, which leads to the erosion of trust in institutions," added the NGOs. mf/mcs
