Bratislava, November 25 (TASR) - President Zuzana Caputova, engaging in a campaign that puts the spotlight on eliminating violence against women, has encouraged women experiencing violence from their partners to seek help. "I know that the journey out of violence is far from easy. But it is always an incomparably better choice than a life of violence," wrote Caputova on her Facebook account, remarking that if violence is taking place in someone’s neighbourhood, anyone can help. "We can also contribute with an attitude that doesn't make light of violence or blame women for bringing violence on themselves with their behaviour," she added. The president pointed out that over the past year, Slovakia has managed to push through a change that she herself initiated, and thanks to cooperation between non-profit organisations, the Justice Ministry and the police, intervention centres for victims of domestic violence are being set up across the country. The campaign supported by the president is based on an initiative of the Coordination and Methodological Centre for the Prevention of Violence. The Norwegian embassy in Bratislava, along with cultural and social figures and embassies of other countries, have also participated in the campaign. zel/df
