Record Number of New COVID-19 Patients Caused by Mistaken Report from Nove Zamky

Bratislava, November 7 (TASR) - The record number of people with COVID-19 admitted to hospitals on Saturday (November 6) standing at 454 was caused by an erroneous report from Nove Zamky University Hospital (Nitra region), TASR learnt on Sunday. The hospital itself admitted this, which, according to available statistics, announced on Saturday an increase in occupied beds with COVID-19 patients to 468, the day before it had only 18 such patients. "We apologise for the misunderstanding caused. An error occurred during the reporting of data to the National Health Information Centre on Saturday. An incorrect number of the hospitalised was sent in the report," hospital spokesman Jan Bacek told TASR, noting that they have already corrected the mistake and will take measures to ensure that it doesn't happen again in the future. "Nove Zamky University Hospital has 65 patients with COVID-19 as of today," added Bacek. The National Health Information Centre (NCZI) reported on Sunday morning on its covid-19.nczisk.sk website that the number of hospitalised patients with COVID-19 in Slovakia increased by 454 to a total of 2,505 patients on Saturday. It hasn't changed this information in its statistics yet. am
