Bratislava, September 2 (TASR) - On the occasion of Constitution Day, which was celebrated in Slovakia on September 1, the world-famous Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada, were lit up for the first time ever in the colours of the Slovak tricolour, TASR learnt on Thursday from the Foreign Affairs Ministry, which added that the event took place on the initiative of the Slovak embassy in Ottawa. “The illumination of Niagara Falls, namely Horseshoe Falls in Canada, in the Slovak tricolour [was] a symbolic expression of the long-standing friendly relations between Slovakia and Canada. Common democratic values as well as the large Slovak expatriate community in Canada create a cordial people-to-people bond between the two countries,” Slovak Ambassador to Canada Vit Koziak remarked. zel/mcs
