Presov, June 11 (TASR) - Chairman of the opposition Smer-SD party Robert Fico has presented further documents that allegedly cast doubt upon Interior Minister Roman Mikulec (OLaNO), TASR learnt on Friday.
At Smer-SD's proposal, the minister will face a vote of no-confidence in him in Parliament on Tuesday, June 15.
An official record from 2012 reportedly proves that Mikulec, as then director of the Military Intelligence Service (VSS), insisted on choosing a company to guard buildings in which his brother was the executive director. The company thus won a contract worth approximately €150,000.
Fico also drew attention to the scrapping of Mikulec's top secret security clearance in 2012, which was also confirmed by the Supreme Court. Incumbent minister allegedly lied in a security questionnaire. The opposition leader also pointed to Mikulec's conflict with a businessman, in which he reportedly used the secret service.
Smer-SD head added that he also has other information because of which he plans to file a criminal complaint with the police. Fico published additional suspicions on Thursday (June 10), but Mikulec said that Fico lied.
