Poll: Voice-SD Would Have Won General Election in February, SaS Runner Up

Bratislava, February 28 - Had a general election taken place in February, it would have been won by Voice-SD on 23 percent of the votes, ahead of the governing parties Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) on 12.9 percent and OLaNO on 10.4 percent, according to a poll conducted by Focus agency on behalf of TV Markiza. The fourth place would have been claimed by the opposition Smer-SD party on 9.2 percent of the votes, followed by extra-parliamentary Progressive Slovakia on 6.7 percent, the far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (LSNS) on 6.6 percent and the co-governing parties We Are Family and For the People on 5.2 percent each. Meanwhile, the parties left outside Parliament would have included the Christian Democrats (KDH) on 4.9 percent, the ethnic-Hungarian SMK party on 3.5 percent, the Slovak National Party (SNS) on 2.8 percent, Homeland on 2.8 percent, Most-Hid on 2.1 percent, Good choice on 1.9 percent, and the ethnic-Hungarian MKS party on 1.3 percent. When converted into seats in the 150-member House, Voice-SD would have gained 44, SaS - 24, OLaNO - 20, Smer-SD - 17, Progressive Slovakia - 13, LSNS - 12, and Are Family and For the People - 10 each.
