Krajci Wouldn't Relax Restrictions Yet, Situation Still Worsening

23. februára 2021 20:54
Bratislava, February 23 (TASR) - The epidemiological situation in Slovakia is slightly deteriorating in terms of both the incidence of new cases as well as the number of hospitalised patients, Health Minister Marek Krajci (OLaNO) announced at a press conference on Tuesday. The seven-day average of new cases currently stands at 5,089, with 4,017 people hospitalised. Health Minister Krajci is convinced that any loosening of restrictive measures in effect would cause a sharp worsening of the situation. "We expect the positive effect of the vaccination to start manifesting in the next two-three weeks," said epidemiologist Pavol Jarcuska. The whole country is in the worst-level black zone in terms of the COVID-19 monitoring system. mf/mcs
