Krajniak: Sulik Apologized, Let's Move On

Bratislava, January 13 (TASR) - Economy Minister Richard Sulik (SaS) already extended his apology to the other government members, now it's necessary to move on, labour minister Milan Krajniak (We Are Family) stated on Wednesday. Krajniak spoke in response to the latest tiff between Prime Minister Igor Matovic (OLaNO) and Sulik sparked by the discongruence between Sulik's alleged consent to the statewide mass testing voiced at a government session on Monday (January 11) and his subsequent criticism of it at a press conference. Sulik explained it as a misunderstanding, Matovic fired back that Sulik's narrative is divorced from reality and encouraged the public to listen to a released audio recording from the Government session. Krajniak accepted Sulik's apology and thus doesn't wish to speculate about potential options as to how the Cabinet should proceed. "Don't ask me to assess how we should operate from now on, if someone obviously made a mistake. I'm trying to say the same things both at government sessions and in front of the media and that's the way we should all behave. The way I see things here is that Mr. Sulik apologised to us and we need to move on," said Krajniak. Krajniak confirmed that caretakers working at retirement homes are next to receive their vaccinations as of Monday, January 18. He underlined that the inoculation is the alpha and omega in the fight against COVID-19, assigned the top priority, although he sees no problem with the declared intent to mass test the Slovak population, either. mf/mcs
