Banska Bystrica, November 19 (TASR) - MP Andrej Medvecky (far-right LSNS) who was detained by police during the anti-Government protests of November 17 will remain on sick leave for at least 14 days, as he received a bleeding laceration across the right side of his face and head flesh wounds during a police action, Medvecky's lawyer Radovan Hradek announced at a press conference in Banska Bystrica on Thursday. According to Hradek, the legislator underwent MRI and CT scans and has been in pain. Medvecky filed a criminal complaint over misuse of public official's powers and the attack against public official, seeing as he is a lawmaker. "After he filed the complaint, we were told that the Interior Ministry's internal affairs will deal with this. He just overcame a concussion. His health took a turn for the worse. In case his health won't improve, we will extend the criminal complaint also with battery," stated Hradek. LSNS chair Marian Kotleba urges Interior Minister Roman Mikulec (OLaNO) to take action against his underlings. "The police action was inappropriate, unprovoked, illegal, just like the attack against our lawmaker. What would have happened if the attack against an opposition MP had occurred in the previous election term? Media would have written about it and stirred up passions about how unacceptable it is for the police to beat up and detain a lawmaker for no reason," underlined Kotleba. Kotleba stated that LSNS has received a number of videos from protest participants, in which "it is clearly visible that a police officer is throwing a petard in order to provoke the crowd" and police shooting into the crowd with paint-filled projectiles, endangering peaceful people and "injuring a 15-year-old boy". Kotleba thanked the protestors for not allowing the police to provoke them. mf/mcs
