Kollar Explains His Private Meeting with Hascak

Bratislava, September 21 (TASR) - Parliamentary Chair Boris Kollar (We Are Family), who on Friday held a private meeting with co-owner of Penta financial group Jaroslav Hascak, stated on Monday at a press conference that he didn"t meet him to gain influence over the media in Penta"s portfolio, claiming that the purpose of the one-on-one was to ask Hascak why the media belonging to Penta have been launching attacks on him and whether they"ve been doing so at Hascak"s behest. The story about the meeting was broken on Friday by daily Dennik N. According to the daily, the one-on-one lasted almost an hour. When approached by Dennik N journalists after the meeting, Kollar explained that they discussed several articles regarding him released by weekly Plus 7 dni and daily Plus 1 den, while Hascak claimed that he met Kollar because he"s writing a book about politics in Slovakia. "I don"t see inside his head, I don"t know why he wanted to meet me or what his motivation was. My main reason was that [the media in Penta"s portfolio] have been discrediting me since the general election," stated Kollar, noting that they didn"t touch upon any book. Kollar continued that Hascak admitted that he was aware of the attacks on him but he hasn"t intervened against them. Kollar assured the public that the only topic of the conversation were the media and that they didn"t discuss any businesses affairs. When asked about his communications with a transgender model, Kollar stated that he has no reason to apologise for it. "It was my personal communication and it wasn"t meant for the public"s eyes," he said, adding that he"s in touch with many people. Kollar was also asked by the media whether he isn"t afraid that someone will deploy a shill to monitor him. "By all means, let them deploy a shill.
