Bratislava, May 15 (TASR) - A total of 45 percent of Slovak households have seen a fall in income due to the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns, while 8 percent of households have reported more than 50-percent slump in income, according to a survey of Ipsos agency. Income drops have been seen mainly with the self-employed and employees of small firms. Less than one quarter of Slovakia's population are currently afraid that they might lose jobs due to coronavirus. The figure was twice as high in late March. One in six households has seen changes to their work routine, with 30 percent of respondents from this specific group saying that at least one member of their household worked from home during the lockdown. One quarter of those households seeing changes to work routine reported work suspension of at least one of its members. Fourteen percent of households stated that at least one of its members became unemployed, while 3 percent of cases concerned self-employed people who had to shut down their business. bub
