Comenius University Launches Online Final Exams in Face of Coronavirus

Bratislava, April 9 (TASR) - In the face of the new coronavirus, Comenius University in Bratislava has introduced for the first time ever online final exams, called 'state examinations' in Slovakia, with the examination commissions sitting at the school under strict hygienic conditions and students presenting their knowledge "from the comfort of their homes", university spokesperson Lenka Miller told TASR on Thursday. "We're entitled to call on students to show us their rooms and their working area. They're given less time for preparation in general [compared to the normal] or they answer without any preparation whatsoever. I believe that our students, who are now a single step away from graduation, realise the gravity of the situation. I don't think they'd misuse it for cheating. Moreover, experienced examiners are able to find out the real level of their knowledge by asking a few questions," said Medical Faculty vice-dean Peter Jackuliak. bub/mcs
