Nad Talked With Slovak Soldiers on Missions Abroad Through Video Call

Bratislava, March 26 (TASR) - Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad (OLaNO) has contacted Slovak professional soldiers who are on missions abroad through a video call, TASR learnt from Defence Ministry's press department on Thursday. Nad spoke with soldiers in Afghanistan, Latvia, Cyprus and Bosnia and Herzegovina. "I'm proud of our soldiers, who have an excellent reputation in the world and their activities strengthen Slovakia's reputation. I'll do my utmost to ensure dignified conditions for their service not only on missions abroad but also at home after returning to Slovakia," said Nad. During the phone call, the minister thanked the soldiers for their commitment to help in crisis regions and was interested in their current state of health and morale. He also informed them about the priorities of the new Defence Ministry's leadership as well as the current situation regarding the spread of the new coronavirus. "There are currently 495 members of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic in international crisis management missions and operations, with 148 professional soldiers at foreign workplaces in NATO and EU structures," said the Defence Ministry. am/mcs
