Bratislava, February 14 (TASR) - The National Crime Agency (NAKA) is waging several criminal prosecutions over a suspected land fraud in Poprad district (Presov region), Police Corps Presidium spokesman Michal Slivka confirmed to TASR on Friday. As for a video released on Thursday evening (February 13) concerning the case that involves ex-president Andrej Kiska, the spokesman confirmed that police will analyse the tape. Several Slovak media on Thursday received a video in which two men can be seen discussing Kiska's land ownership dispute, which ended up in court in 2018. Kiska, who was president at that time, was involved in a dispute with a dentist, with both of them claiming that they owned a plot of land in Velky Slavkov (Presov region). The ex-president ended up losing the case. One of the men in the video, namely Michal Suliga, who was a witness in the case and the owner of the company from which Kiska bought the plot, states in the video that Kiska knew that he was buying land acquired illegally by positive prescription. Kiska has stated that he's filing a criminal complaint for defamation regarding the video. "It's a primitive video featuring two very poor and untrustworthy actors who are being investigated by the police for various types of fraud. It's obvious that their conversation follows a premeditated scenario and is tragi-comical," stated Kiska. According to him, Fico is the mastermind behind the video, as the Smer-SD chair promised him in 2019, when Kiska was still president, that he would engage in "revenge and attacks" if he didn't appoint him to the post of Constitutional Court head. mf
