Slovak Government Allocates New Funds for Development Aid in 2020

Bratislava, January 15 (TASR) - The Slovak Government on Wednesday allocated more than €7 million in development and humanitarian aid under the remit of the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation in 2020, while another €10 million plus has been provided for direct bilateral aid and contributions in international projects with the involvement of the Slovak ministries of interior, education, agriculture, defence and environment. The funds allocated for the agency will be spent primarily on development projects in Kenya, Georgia and Moldova, and on humanitarian and development projects in other 'priority regions and countries', which include the Western Balkans, the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine), the eastern part of Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and Afghanistan. bub/df
