Bratislava, December 5 (TASR) - I won't comment on the decision to prosecute Smer-SD chairman Robert Fico, said Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD), adding that the decisions by the prosecutor's office and the police must be respected. "The police are acting on the order of the prosecutor, the prosecutor has a reason to do so, and we must respect and submit to the decision and be as co-operative as possible, regardless of whether you are prime minister, party chairman or ordinary worker. There mustn't be any differences in this when we want to say that justice and the rule of law are in force in Slovakia and we must respect it," said Pellegrini. An investigator of the National Crime Agency (NAKA) pressed charges against governing Smer-SD chair Robert Fico in connection with the statements he made following the conviction of former LSNS MP Milan Mazurek for his statements on Roma. The NAKA investigator has charged the ex-premier for three crimes - for defaming a race, nation and belief, for incitement to national, racial and ethnic hatred and for endorsement of the crime. In the event of his final conviction, the Smer-SD chairman can be sentenced for one to five years. am/mcs
