BID: Integrated Transport in Place Only in Bratislava Region

Bratislava, November 20 (TASR) - Bratislava region is the only one in Slovakia that already uses an integrated transport system to the benefit of passengers, Bratislava Integrated Transport (BID) company stated on Wednesday in response to a bill sponsored by the OLaNO party. Earlier in the day OLaNO submitted to the parliamentary session in November a motion aimed at linking rail and bus services, stating that individual modes of public passenger transport are in competition with each other and chaotic. BID general director Zuzana Horcikova pointed out that passengers in Bratislava region can use a single ticket for the services of four carriers. They also have linked timetables and enjoy cheaper and more comfortable journeys. The links between buses and trains will also be reinforced by a new dispatch centre, set to be launched into operation in mid-2020. mf/df
