BRATISLAVA - Speaking on RTVS's programme 'Sobotne dialogy' (Saturday Dialogues), Smer-SD vice-chair Juraj Blanar praised the step of Martin Glvac (Smer-SD) who resigned from the parliamentary vice-chair post on Thursday (November 7). According to Blanar, other politicians who had above-standard contacts with Marian K., now charged with ordering journalist Jan Kuciak's murder, should follow Glvac's example. He pointed to opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) leader Richard Sulik and OLaNO leader Igor Matovic in this context. BRATISLAVA - The opposition We Are Family party has prepared 150 people to be included in its slate for the 2020 general election, party leader Boris Kollar told the party's programme conference held in Bratislava on Saturday. Next week the party leadership will decide from what position will individual members run in the election. Kollar should be number one on the slate. BRATISLAVA - The fall of the Berlin Wall 30 years ago was probably the most visible evidence of a changing world, stated Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on Saturday. BRATISLAVA - Fitch Ratings agency confirmed Slovakia's rating at A+ with a stable outlook on Friday (November 8), TASR has learnt from the Finance Ministry's press department. The international rating agency cited stable influx of direct foreign investments, favourable structure of Slovakia's foreign debt and the country's institutional strength as chief factors behind Slovakia's positive rating. ko
