Bratislava, November 9 (TASR) - The fall of the Berlin Wall 30 years ago was probably the most visible evidence of a changing world, stated Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on Saturday. One week after the fall of the Berlin Wall, a long-expected new era came to the then Czechoslovakia as well. "It has brought a lot of changes - many of them very needful and beneficial, but also some natural and dangerous ones. The world is also significantly changing today and Slovakia is living in expectation of a new era," Pellegrini has posted on a social network. However, there's a need to bring responsible changes that will help Slovakia keep pace with world trends and bring better life to all people in Slovakia, noted the prime minister. The Berlin Wall has become the most famous symbol of the Cold War. It was dividing not only Germany, but also Europe and the entire world for more than 28 years. At least 138 people died when trying to overcome this 155 kilometres-long and 3.6-metres high construction. ko
