Bratislava, November 8 (TASR) - The formula to calculate minimum pension rate in Slovakia is about to change under the amendment to the Social Insurance Act, signed into law by President Zuzana Caputova on Friday. The minimum pension will no longer be derived from a specific percentage of subsistence minimum, but rather a specific percentage of average salary in national economy. Currently, the basic minimum pension is defined as 136 percent of the subsistence minimum per adult person. Under the legislative change, set to come into effect as of January 1, 2020, the minimum pension will be calculated as 33 percent of average monthly nominal employee salary in national economy. mf/am
