Bratislava, October 18 (TASR) - President Zuzana Caputova will attend the ceremony of the Enthronement of the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito, scheduled for October 22 in Tokyo, TASR learnt from Caputova's spokesman Martin Strizinec on Friday.
The Slovak President will leave for a four-day visit of Japan on Sunday (October 20).
"On Monday (October 21), the President will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Aside from the official programme, the President will also familiarise with various innovative environmental projects," said Strizinec.
Japanese Emperor Naruhito officially took the Chrysanthemum Throne in April of this year, starting the Reiwa era, which means "order and harmony". Naruhito ascended to the throne following the abdication of his father, emperor Akihito, the first such abdication of emperor in more than 200 years.
