Employers Discussed with Premier Mainly Minimum Wage and Bonuses

Bratislava, October 9 (TASR) - Employers' representatives discussed with Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) mainly the minimum wage and related bonuses on Wednesday afternoon, TASR learnt from Association of Employers Unions (AZZZ) vice-chair Rastislav Machunka and Republican Union of Employers (RUZ) President Miroslav Kiralvarga. According to Machunka, the impact of Brexit on the Slovak economy was not discussed at the meeting. Kiralvarga added that the next meeting of the premier and employers should be held in December. "We debated MPs' bills in particular. We have some objections towards the MP draft law amending and determining the automatic calculation of the minimum wage. We have a fundamental problem with the minimum wage increasing the bonuses for overtime, Saturdays, Sundays and the like," said Machunka. According to Machunka, the other two MPs' proposals concerned the Labour Code. "One introduces additional leave for employees under 35 years of age. The second bill extends the requirement for holiday vouchers to companies with up to 50 employees. We have expressed a strong disagreement with these bills," he said. am
