Stats Office: Revenues in Industry Down 1.4 percent M-o-M in July

Bratislava, September 12 (TASR) - Revenues for own goods and activities in July 2019 increased in transport and warehousing - by 2.2 percent month-on-month (m-o-m), in the construction sector by 1.9 percent, and in information and communications activities by 0.5 percent, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Thursday. Conversely, m-o-m decreases in revenues in July were recorded in industry by 1.4 percent, and in selected market services - 0.7 percent. Revenues in industry posted a year-on-year (y-o-y) drop for the second consecutive month, going down 3.6 percent in July. This was largely due to decreases in supplies of electricity, gas, steam and cold air dropped by 16.2 percent; and in manufacturing - 2 percent. Conversely, revenues in water supplies, sewage water disposal and waste disposal rose by 13.5 percent; while revenues from mining and quarrying grew by 0.2 percent. Total revenues in industry over the first seven months of 2019 increased by 3.6 percent y-o-y due to growth in water supplies, sewage water disposal and waste disposal services - 14 percent, in manufacturing - 5 percent, and in mining and quarrying - 4 percent.
