Danko Rejects Any Future Coalition with Far-Right LSNS

Bratislava, September 11 (TASR) - The Slovak National Party (SNS) won't join any future coalition that would include far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (LSNS), as collaboration with individuals supporting extremism and fascism would violate the very principle of SNS' political existence, SNS leader Andrej Danko stated on Wednesday. Danko believes that it must be explained to the public that votes for extremist parties will end up squandered in the 2020 parliamentary election. According to the SNS leader, Smer-SD chair Robert Fico is aware of Danko's stance on extremism. "I talk openly about these matters with everyone," he claimed. Earlier in the day, Danko opened an exhibition titled 'Holocaust: Extermination, Liberation, Rescue' in the Parliament in his capacity as House chair. The goal of the exhibition, opened in the presence of Russian Ambassador to Slovakia Alexej Fedotov and Ilya Altman of the Moscow-based Educational Holocaust Centre, is to commemorate the horrors of WW2 and the fates of Jews in concentration camps. mf/mcs
