Pellegrini: Notre Dame Fire Enormous Cultural Loss

Bratislava, April 16 (TASR) - The Notre Dame Cathedral fire is an enormous cultural loss for France, Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) has stated on Facebook, adding that any catastrophe that destroys the work of people is regrettable. "It's even sadder when flames consume priceless historical and cultural values. I was deeply saddened to see the world-renowned Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris burning, and my thoughts go out to the French people," he stated. Notre Dame Cathedral caught fire on Monday evening. Its roof and central spire were completely consumed by the flames. Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control during the night. zel/df
