TIS: Caputova's Presidential Campaign Most Transparent

22. februára 2019 13:23
Bratislava, February 22 (TASR) - According to Transparency International Slovakia (TIS), Zuzana Caputova is the candidate with the most transparent presidential campaign. Caputova is followed by Robert Mistrik and Eduard Chmelar. Maros Sefcovic is the least transparent candidate out of the four strongest candidates according to the polls. Robert Svec and Martin Dano wage the least transparent campaigns overall. According to TIS, Caputova's campaign is the most transparent one there ever was in Slovakia. "She displays in detail the information on her transparent bank account, she published her detailed property declaration at our request as well," stated TIS manager Gabriel Sipos. Mistrik, who is placed second, was the only candidate to publish data from 2018. His ranking was lower than Caputova's due to large transactions on his transparent account and a less detailed property declaration. Sipos explained that Mistrik moved three quarters of his resources from his transparent bank account to a non-public account of a media agency. Mistrik stated that he doesn't want to tell the details of his campaign to the competition. Sefcovic, who was the strongest candidate in the polls, wasn't willing to publish his property declaration and documents regarding taxes. The form he submitted as European Commissioner, isn't sufficiently detailed, according to TIS. "So far he has been less transparent than Marian Kotleba," stated TIS analyst Lubos Kostelansky. Stefan Harabin, the fourth strongest candidate according to the polls, qualitatively maintains his transparent account on the same level as Mistrik and Sefcovic do. He also didn't publish his detailed property declaration. He referred to the one he submitted as a Supreme Court judge, which is, according to TIS, too general. Caputova, Mistrik and Harabin are followed by Ivan Zuzula, Bela Bugar, Juraj Zabojnik, Milan Krajniak, Frantisek Miklosko, Bohumila Tauchmanova, Marian Kotleba, Maros Sefcovic, Martin Dano and Robert Svec in that particular order. zel/mcs/ko
