Flash Estimate: Harmonised Inflation at 2.9 percent in October

Bratislava, 4 November (TASR) - Year-on-year (y-o-y) harmonised inflation in Slovakia amounted to 2.9 percent in October 2026, the lowest figure to be posted this year, according to a flash estimate published by the Statistics Office on Wednesday. Price movements in both directions across individual sectors of the consumer basket resulted in zero monthly harmonised inflation. In yearly terms, prices of industrial goods (excluding energy) increased by 2.6 percent, while energy prices rose by 14.7 percent and those of services by 3 percent. Conversely, prices of the aggregate category of food, alcohol and tobacco were 1.9 percent lower than a year ago. Month-on-month, prices of industrial goods (excluding energy) increased by 0.4 percent, energy prices went up by 0.4 percent and those of food, alcohol and tobacco also rose by 0.4 percent.
