Kosice: Newly Elected and Outgoing Mayors Discuss Smooth Handover

Kosice, 3 November (TASR) - The outgoing mayor of Kosice, Jaroslav Polacek, met the newly elected mayor, Ladislav Lorinc, at city hall on Tuesday, Kosice city hall has reported. The main topic of their first joint working meeting was how to make sure that the city council's agenda is handed over in a smooth and orderly manner following the local elections in October. During the meeting, both city representatives focused primarily on the method that should be used when handing over city hall's agenda and how to ensure continuity in the functioning of the local authority. The outgoing mayor proposed constructive communication and mutual cooperation during the transitional period so that the change in the city leadership won't affect its day-to-day operations or the provision of services. "I want to hand over the office with dignity and honour, not only in terms of paperwork and procedure, but also properly, with information on projects and allocated financial resources. My aim is for the results of our work to continue," said Polacek. am/df
