Bratislava, 27 October (TASR) - Reducing the financial burden on the public and entrepreneurs, and running the state in a more cost-effective way are the priorities that the extra-parliamentary 'Right to Truth' party wants to pursue, party spokesperson Kristina Marcekova has informed TASR. The party has outlined these priorities in its election manifesto, with which it intends to contest next year's general election. It plans to approve the manifesto at its congress due to be held by the end of the year, said Marcekova. "Slovakia doesn't need more political promises, but a fundamental change in the way in which the state functions. That's why we've drawn up a comprehensive programme, which we're continuing to develop into specific legislative drafts and measures. We want people to know what we plan to do, how we'll do it and who will be responsible for it," said Right to Truth chairman Zoroslav Kollar. The programme's main priorities include introducing a 16-percent tax rate for entrepreneurs, reducing VAT to 5 percent for the purchase of a first home by young people aged under 35, tackling unjustified fees charged by doctors, and cutting the state's operating costs, including by reducing the number of ministries and MPs. The aim is to alleviate the financial burden on the public and entrepreneurs and to create a state that operates more efficiently and economically. The party plans to hold a congress by the end of the year at which it will submit the programme to the delegates for approval. It will also launch a media campaign in November to present its priorities. This will be followed by discussions with the public in the regions about specific solutions. "We want to present people not only with our programme, but also with the experts behind it, who will be responsible for its implementation. People have the right to know whom they are entrusting with running the state and what they can expect from them," said Kollar. ko/df
