Bratislava, 26 October (TASR) - The man charged with assaulting medical staff at Ruzinov hospital in Bratislava on Friday (23 October) will be remanded in custody, with the court reportedly having granted a motion filed by a prosecutor from Bratislava II District Prosecutor's Office, Prosecutor-General Maros Zilinka announced on social media on Monday.
Late on Saturday evening (24 October), the prosecutor filed the motion to have 34-year-old E.M.D. [name abbreviated due to legal reasons] from Ireland remanded in custody based on the risk that he could abscond or engage in further offending.
The man faces charges of disorderly conduct in conjunction with causing bodily harm to a protected person. The assault took place in the waiting area of the central admissions department.
The charged man physically assaulted medical staff who had told him not to lie on the seats but to go for the examination for which he had come to the hospital. As a result of the incident, one member of the medical staff suffered a fractured nose and another sustained arm injuries.
