Martin, 23 October (TASR) - A judge of the Martin District Court has remanded all three men, arrested during the 'Finisher 2' anti-drug police operation in Martin and the village of Bystricka (both Zilina region) on Monday (19 October), in custody, Police Corps Presidium spokesman Roman Hajek told TASR on Friday. The decision was based on concerns that they might continue to engage in criminal activity, Hajek explained. Following the operation, an investigator of the National Anti-Drugs Unit has charged two men, aged 34 and 25, with the particularly serious crime of the unauthorised production of and trafficking in narcotic and psychotropic substances "Based on the findings of expert analysis and the evidence secured, the investigator has also brought charges against the third man, aged 24, for the unlawful possession of narcotic and psychotropic substances," said Hajek. According to Hajek, the investigator had prepared a motion for all three charged men to be remanded in custody. "The prosecutor of the Martin District Prosecutor's Office agreed with it and filed a request to remand the charged in custody, which the court granted. If found guilty, the third charged person faces a prison sentence of one to six years," said Hajek, noting that the investigation is ongoing and police are carrying out the necessary procedural steps to clarify all the circumstances of the case. ko
