Bratislava, 14 October (TASR) - The Israeli Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia is helping to develop bilateral relations, trade and technological cooperation, President Peter Pellegrini stated on Wednesday in his speech to mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Israeli Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia.
"For a quarter of a century, the Israeli Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia has been helping to build a bridge between Slovakia and Israel. It builds a bridge between entrepreneurs, investors, experts and institutions. A bridge between innovation, technology and new business opportunities," said the head of state, emphasising that the success of this cooperation is also confirmed by trade, which grew by approximately 40 percent between 2021-2025. He added that last year the number of Israeli tourists in Slovakia rose by more than 41 percent, reaching almost 26,000 visitors.
The president highlighted significant projects such as the signing of a cooperation agreement on research and development, the deployment of innovation diplomats, and cooperation in the fields of security and air defence. In his view, linking Israel's innovation ecosystem with Slovakia's strong industrial base brings new opportunities in the fields of research, health care, energy and cyber security.
The Israeli Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia was founded 25 years ago as a non-governmental organisation. Its main objective is to promote trade, economic and cultural relations between the Slovak Republic and the State of Israel, to create opportunities for establishing business contacts, and to support mutual investments and innovations.
