Bratislava, 11 October (TASR) - Slavomir Kral from the Traffic Police Department of the Police Corps Presidium was unanimously elected president of the European Roads Policing Network (ROADPOL) during an international ROADPOL meeting held in the Netherlands last week, TASR learnt from an announcement published by the Police Corps on social media on Sunday. ROADPOL brings together traffic police forces from 31 countries, with its president being the highest elected representative of the organisation during a two-year term. The organisation's president represents ROADPOL at the international level, while developing cooperation with European institutions and promoting joint projects to improve road safety and protect human lives. The Police Corps described the unanimous election of a Slovak representative as significant recognition of his expertise, professionalism and the trust he has built among foreign partners. "Slovakia has thus gained a prominent position in shaping international cooperation in road safety," stated the police. jrg
