MFA State Secretary Chovanec to Open Slovakia's Largest Economic Diplomacy Event

Bratislava, 9 October (TASR) - The Foreign and European Affairs Ministry is organising the largest economic diplomacy event in Slovakia - the Export Forum 2026, the 6th year of which is scheduled to take place at the Swissotel Damian Hotel in Jasna (Zilina region) on Tuesday 13 October 2026, the ministry's communications department told TASR on Friday, adding that the programme will be officially opened by Foreign Ministry State Secretary Rastislav Chovanec. This flagship event of Slovak economic diplomacy - and the largest of its kind in Slovakia - is expected to attract a record attendance of over 600 representatives from the Slovak diplomatic corps, the business community and the professional public. The central theme of this year's Export Forum is 'The competitiveness of the Slovak economy in a time of geopolitical and economic change'. Discussions will also focus on the prospects for the defence industry, opportunities linked to the forthcoming Expo 2027 in Belgrade, and possibilities for Slovak companies to participate in development cooperation projects. am
