Bratislava, 3 October (TASR) - The Foreign and European Affairs Ministry is launching the first phase of a new Visa Registration Website (RegVIS), the ministry's communications department has told TASR, adding that it's intended to provide a clearer and more efficient process for submitting applications for Slovak visas.
The website has been available to Slovak universities and research institutions since 1 October.
"By introducing the new visa gateway, we aim to create a clearer and more efficient system that will facilitate access to applying for a national visa for those coming to Slovakia to study, conduct research or work. This is targeted assistance for specific groups of applicants and, at the same time, a further step in the modernisation of visa procedures," said Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD).
Blanar went on to explain that the Foreign Affairs Ministry is collaborating with the relevant ministries and other partners on preparing and implementing the system, with the Research and Innovation Authority having made a significant contribution to the project's funding. "Through our joint efforts, we aim to create practical solutions that will simplify administrative processes and contribute towards improving how services for people coming to Slovakia function," emphasised Slovakia's chief diplomat.
